The Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige has called for the postponement of the All Progressives Congress(APC) primary for the Anambra State Governorship election scheduled for today, June 26, 2021 to Tuesday , June 29, 2021.<\/div>\n

The Minister says\u00a0 the postponement is overly important\u00a0 to enable party members across the state to participate as well as\u00a0 give enough room to the Committee Members to resolve contentious issues raised by aspirants.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by Senator Chris Ngige Media Office at\u00a0 Alor,\u00a0 Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State,\u00a0 said the Minister who is also the leader of the Party in the State, has already made his position known to the chairman of the\u00a0 Primary\u00a0 Committee for the Anambra State Governorship election and the Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun.<\/p>\n

Quoting\u00a0 Senator Ngige, the statement said, \u201c Your Excellency, Prince Dapo\u00a0 Abiodun, the\u00a0 Chairman of the Anambra State Primary Committee,\u00a0 \u00a0good day. As I write you now,\u00a0 4.25pm, Saturday, 26th June,\u00a0 I’m in my home town, Alor with 2 electoral wards and there is no sign of any governorship\u00a0 primary election. My inquiries and investigation show that the story is the same all around the 326 wards of the\u00a0 21 local government areas in the state .<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result, most party members have left for home, having waited since 8am. I discussed with your member, Distinguished Senator Ken Nnamani and I’ll advise you\u00a0 call the\u00a0 Panel Members to shift the exercise to Tuesday, June 29th to also enable you tidy up some issues raised by aspirants.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
