{"id":83541,"date":"2021-07-12T16:55:14","date_gmt":"2021-07-12T15:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=83541"},"modified":"2021-07-12T16:55:14","modified_gmt":"2021-07-12T15:55:14","slug":"emir-of-kajurus-abductors-contact-family-demand-n200-million-ransom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/emir-of-kajurus-abductors-contact-family-demand-n200-million-ransom\/","title":{"rendered":"Emir of Kajuru\u2019s abductors contact family, demand\u00a0N200 million\u00a0ransom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The abductors of the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, have demanded a ransom of N200 million.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nRecall that the monarch was kidnapped by bandits in the early hours of Sunday along with 13 of his family members, including two grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>However, the spokesperson of the Kajuru Emirate Council, Dahiru Abubakar, while giving an update to newsmen on Monday revealed the bandits\u2019 demand.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Abubakar, the bandits also gave assurances that all the victims were in good condition and not being molested.<\/p>\n<p>He further revealed that the council is still appealing to the bandits to release the 85-year-old monarch and his relatives unconditionally, especially given his fragile health condition.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, one bandit was reportedly killed and some others injured in a shootout with soldiers during the attack on the Emir\u2019s palace, according to security sources in the local government.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe sources said the bandits, during the operation, divided themselves into two, with one group engaging the soldiers in a gun battle, while the other group moved into the palace, and later took the Emir and 14 others away into the forest.<\/p>\n<p>Numbering over 200, the bandits arrived at the community on motorcycles in the early hours of Sunday morning through a nearby forest that stretches the Kaduna-Abuja highway in Kachia Local Government Area, and started shooting sporadically, before they were engaged by soldiers that were deployed to the area.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The abductors of the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, have demanded a ransom of N200 million.
