{"id":83797,"date":"2021-07-17T13:40:26","date_gmt":"2021-07-17T12:40:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=83797"},"modified":"2021-07-17T13:40:26","modified_gmt":"2021-07-17T12:40:26","slug":"defection-yari-faults-buni-for-dissolving-apc-exco-in-zamfara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/defection-yari-faults-buni-for-dissolving-apc-exco-in-zamfara\/","title":{"rendered":"Defection: Yari faults Buni for dissolving APC exco in Zamfara"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1705528598828139292\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nFormer governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji AbdulAziz Yari, has criticised the Chairman, Caretaker\/Extra-Ordinary Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, for dissolving the party executive in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Yari, who addressed APC supporters from Zamfara Central Zone at his residence in Talata-Mafara on Friday, cautioned the incumbent Governor, Bello Matawalle, to be careful about political sycophants who may lead him astray because of their personal interests<\/p>\n<p>The ex-governor, however, called on APC members in the state to remain calm and united, saying, \u201cWe will reclaim the state, come 2023. Some people were saying I would leave the APC. That is their own speculation. I was one of the 10 founding fathers of the APC. I will not leave the party, no matter what.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnybody who says I will defect to another party has a hidden agenda. I will not build a party and leave it. We will try to correct our past mistake to recapture the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to face (former Governor Ahmed) Yarima in whatever way possible. I was one of those who assisted him to achieve his political ambition. I was one of those who printed his posters. Mai Mala Buni has made a mistake by dissolving the party\u2019s caretaker committee in Zamfara State.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He called on Buni to correct what he described as the mistake in Zamfara, insisting that the state voted fir Muhammadu Buhari as President twice.<\/p>\n<p>Yari said, \u201cYarima did all he could to convince me to join the PDP but I refused to do so. I was part of Buhari\u2019s success. I am calling on Matawalle to be careful with political sycophants who wanted to mislead him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you follow Yarima, he will surely lead you astray. We welcome you to the APC and we will help you to succeed if you want to work with us. N1.7bn was given to Yarima and others before the convention for the merger took place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He alleged that there were several political sycophants surrounding the governor whose intentions were centred on self-aggrandisement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am calling on Governor Matawalle to be careful with some politicians who are close to him, pretending that they are there to help him succeed. Most of them are there for selfish interests,\u201d Yari said.<\/p>\n<p>The former governor insisted that he had no grudge against Matawalle\u2019s defection to the APC, saying the only \u201cmistake\u201d his successor made was joining the party from Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I heard that he was going to defect to our party, I thought that he would look for us to show him the way forward.
