{"id":84050,"date":"2021-07-26T18:22:10","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T17:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=84050"},"modified":"2021-07-26T18:22:10","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T17:22:10","slug":"anambra-governorship-zlp-not-for-sale-confirms-coalition-talks-with-other-political-parties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/anambra-governorship-zlp-not-for-sale-confirms-coalition-talks-with-other-political-parties\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra Governorship: ZLP not for sale, confirms coalition talks with other political parties"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1706367182034931852\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\">Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has denied financial deals over candidates in the state, but, has, however, confirmed coalition talks with other political parties.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">ZLP, in a statement by its National Secretary, Comrade Yahaya Makama, said its attention has been drawn to a misleading and mischievous report in a particular national daily, alleging that the party has reached certain financial deals with some individuals in connection to its candidate for the November 6, Anambra State governorship election.\u201cThe false report also went ahead to mischievously claim that the National Chairman of the ZLP, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, reached the alleged agreement after receiving sums of monetary payments.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cFor the avoidance of doubts, the ZLP clearly states that it has not reached any agreement neither has the National Chairman received any payment from any person as being falsely suggested in the publication.\u201cHowever, the ZLP can confirm that it is currently in very high-level discussions with critical stakeholders from the three major political parties as well as no fewer than seven other minority parties on ways to use the party as a platform for a formidable cross-party coalition ahead of the election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ZLP assured that it is not for sale to the highest bidder but is rather yielding itself to Ndi Anambra as a platform for a strong coalition among political parties, support institutions and the body of electorate in the coalesced effort ahead of the governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ZLP will indeed make its decisions regarding the coalitions open to the public in the coming days,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The party urged the general public, particularly the people of Anambra, to disregard the mischievous publication, which is clearly the handiwork of desperate politicians in a particular political party, who are jittery over the emerging coalition and seek to cause confusion in its fold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn that regard, the ZLP will never be distracted by any blackmail but will continue to work with the people of Anambra state in their aspiration to coalesce on our platform and enthrone a purposeful leadership in the state,\u201d the party said.<\/p>\n<p>ZPL has, however, counselled the media to be circumspect and always cross-check their facts before going to press so as not to allow desperate politicians to use their platforms as avenues to mislead the public.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has denied financial deals over candidates in the state, but, has, however, confirmed coalition talks with other political parties.
