{"id":84969,"date":"2021-08-19T22:33:50","date_gmt":"2021-08-19T21:33:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=84969"},"modified":"2021-08-20T12:01:40","modified_gmt":"2021-08-20T11:01:40","slug":"i-wont-exit-govt-as-a-failure-buhari-vowspends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/i-wont-exit-govt-as-a-failure-buhari-vowspends\/","title":{"rendered":"I won\u2019t exit govt as a failure, Buhari Vows"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will not exit government as a failure.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari said this when he met with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed by the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno, while briefing State House correspondents after the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President was briefed, the President is quite happy that there\u2019s been a tremendous success, especially with the advent of the new service chiefs and Inspector-General of Police,\u201d Monguno said as quoted by Channels TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he\u2019s also made it very clear that he\u2019s not ready to exit government as a failure; he is not going to tolerate that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s made changes and he\u2019s ready to make further changes if he is not satisfied. He is completely determined to ensure that there\u2019s a turnaround in the fortunes in the theatre of operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>The NSA said the meeting with the service chiefs bordered mainly on gains recorded by the military in the fight against insurgents.\u201cIt is evident that a lot of successes have been recorded,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLarge numbers of people are surrendering in the North East as a consequence of the relentless efforts of the Armed Forces, intelligence and security agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve never had such large numbers of people defecting from the other side back to the Nigerian side, mainly as a result of many issues within the theatre, issues of infighting among the various factions of the terrorist groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the new drive of the Armed Forces, the police, the intelligence agencies, there\u2019s been greater cooperation, greater synergy, intelligence sharing, as well as our partners in the regional intelligence fusion unit,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will not exit government as a failure.
