The Kebbi State government has redesigned 10 Land Cruisers vans to bullet proof military amoured vehicles with a view to secure the state from banditry.<\/div>\n

The state deputy governor, Col. Ismaila Yombe Dabai (rtd), made this known on Friday while displaying the remodeled vehicles in Birnin Kebbi saying, the redesigning was carried out so as to enhance the provision of military hardware to the military personnel deployed to the state.<\/div>\n
\n

Yombe, who personally carried out the redesigning and reconstruction of the vehicles said, the remodeling was necessary in order to produce rugged vehicles to enable the military take the war to the bandits even in the most difficult terrain of the state.\u201cOne of the basic requirements for security is transportation. Effective transportation system is key for provision of security for the purpose of arms and ammunitions movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hard plate fixed on the vehicles, is to provide adequate safety against small fire arms for the driver and the other personnel in the vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe choose to change them from civilian to military designed, you can seen we have fabricated an armored cabin for the vehicles and a gun carrier.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
