Former Vice President Atiku again showed his political dexterity and larger-than-life persona penultimate Friday at the wedding ceremony between Yusuf Buhari,\u00a0 son of current Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari and Zahra, Daughter of Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero in Bichi, Kano State.<\/div>\n

The August event which brought the high and mighty within and outside the shores of the country cutting across the political,\u00a0 business and religious strata however took another dimension upon the arrival of the former number two citizen who quickly became the cynosure of all eyes.Upon arrival,\u00a0 Alh. Atiku Abubakar further charged an already electrified atmosphere even as he made his way to felicitate with the groom’s father, President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

According to an eyewitness who craved anonymity “the former Vice President at that moment, displayed the true Nigerian statesman spirit, envisioned by our forebears.<\/p>\n

“For a man whose business concerns were deliberately targeted by major players of this administration who are present and he still has the heart to come to this event, Atiku is truly a tolerant and forgiving person.<\/p>\n

“If it was the other way round, I guarantee you President Buhari would never have attended no matter the invitation extended to him.”<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com inside sources gathered that several close allies of the former Vice President had advised him against attending the wedding ceremony but the Alh. Atiku was quoted to have said that “must always show love to people no matter how they treat us.”<\/p>\n

It can be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of the contentious 2019 general elections and re-elected as Nigeria\u2019s president for another four-year term after facing down stiff competition from his closest challenger Atiku Abubakar of the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p>\n

Observers had said killings, malpractices and attacks on electoral officials marred the elections which held a week after it was earlier scheduled.<\/p>\n

After the elections however, the Buhari-led federal government began deliberately targeting Atiku’s business interests.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0 confirming his divestment from the Intels, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar blamed President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s regime for trying to destroy the company because of political differences.<\/p>\n

Atiku had in a statement by his media aide, Paul Ibe, titled \u2018Atiku redirects his investment in Intels\u2019, said, \u201cIt assumed greater urgency in the last five years, because this Government has been preoccupied with destroying a legitimate business that was employing thousands of Nigerians because of politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has sold his shares in Intels and redirected his investment to other sectors of the economy for returns and creation of jobs. There should be a marked difference between Politics and Business<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
