{"id":85132,"date":"2021-08-23T17:24:18","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=85132"},"modified":"2021-08-23T17:24:18","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:24:18","slug":"9-internet-fraudsters-arrested-in-bbnaija-dorathys-apartment-efcc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/9-internet-fraudsters-arrested-in-bbnaija-dorathys-apartment-efcc\/","title":{"rendered":"9 internet fraudsters arrested in BBNaija Dorathy\u2019s apartment \u2014 EFCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1708901489421248214\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has revealed that 9 internet fraudsters were arrested while raiding the apartment of a former BBNaija housemate, Dorathy Bachor.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nRecall that Dorathy had taken to social media to lambast the agency over its unprofessional conduct during the raid.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, the EFCC in a statement, Monday, wrote:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been drawn to a post on Instagram by one Dorothy Bachor, alleging that operatives of the Commission broke into her home in the early hours of today, 23rd August, 2021<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commission can confirm that operatives from the Lagos Command of the Commission, acting on verified intelligence, executed a Search Warrant at a block of flats located in the Lekki area of Lagos on Monday, 23rd August, 2021 during which nine internet fraud suspects were arrested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Bachor\u2019s apartment happened to be one of the flats in the building. EFCC operatives had knocked on her entrance door, identified themselves as being from the Commission on a mission to execute a Search Warrant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut they were refused entry, for several minutes by Bachor\u2019s sister. The operatives were left with no choice than to force their way in, lest suspects escape or destroy vital evidence.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cIt is important to state that law-abiding citizens have no reason to refuse the execution of a validly obtained Search Warrant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, contrary to the information making the rounds in the social media, Ms. Bachor was not present during the operation and the anti-EFCC stories about her coming out half-naked among other fantastical details appear to have been invented to fit the pattern she and other internet-fueled stars so desperately want to push about the EFCC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to reiterate that nine alleged internet fraud suspects were apprehended in the block of flats housing Ms. Bachor\u2019s apartment.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has revealed that 9 internet fraudsters were arrested while raiding the apartment of a former BBNaija housemate, Dorathy Bachor.
