{"id":86374,"date":"2021-09-27T17:44:39","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T16:44:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=86374"},"modified":"2021-09-27T17:44:39","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T16:44:39","slug":"unn-alumni-iwuanyanwu-directs-withdrawal-of-court-cases-as-factions-embrace-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/unn-alumni-iwuanyanwu-directs-withdrawal-of-court-cases-as-factions-embrace-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"UNN Alumni: Iwuanyanwu directs withdrawal of court cases, as factions embrace peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1712068358072820830\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chairman, Board of Trustees, University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association, Abuja branch, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has reconciled warring factions and directed aggrieved members to withdraw all court cases.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIwuanyanwu, in a communiqu\u00e9 issued after a meeting with members at the weekend in Abuja, implored them to devise means on how to reposition the university which he lamented was drifting from its mandate, rather than engage in a fight over position of authority.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe meeting was also attended by Johnny Chukwu, Convener\/Reconciliation Committee Chairman; Lawrence Alobi, FC Chilaka, Nehbolisa Emodi, Ugochukwu Okoroafer, Kema Chikwe, Ezenia Nnamdi Ekweogwu And Chudi Uwazurike.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, they \u2018accepted the official resignation of Chlef (Mrs) Linda Onyenkwelu led faction of the National Executive Council of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That the Sir Ben Okoronkwo led the national executive council of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association shall continue in office till his tenure ends on the 31st day of December 2021;<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;That the University of Nigeria Alumni Association shall constitute an electoral committee and convenes a national convention by the first week of December 2021, in line with the constitution 2014;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That the constitution of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association be overhauled to establish a statutory role for the BOT\/Distinguished ALOHAS;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That all pending actions at the law court with respect to this matter be withdrawn by the litigants immediately;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That the BOT, distinguished ALOHAS and members of the University of Nigeria Alumni Association remain committed to the progress and development of the University of Nigeria; and<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The meeting appreciated the patriotic commitments of Engr (Chief) Emmanuel Iwuanyawu OFR and Engr Johnny Chukwu (Chairman Reconciliation Committe)&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairman, Board of Trustees, University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association, Abuja branch, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has reconciled warring factions and directed aggrieved members to withdraw all court cases.
