{"id":87067,"date":"2021-10-15T08:16:42","date_gmt":"2021-10-15T07:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=87067"},"modified":"2021-10-15T08:16:42","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T07:16:42","slug":"cbn-supports-lagos-blue-line-project-with-n60bn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/cbn-supports-lagos-blue-line-project-with-n60bn\/","title":{"rendered":"CBN Supports Lagos Blue Line Project With N60bn"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1713662659333767000\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said on Thursday that it had supported the Lagos State Blue railway line project with N60 billion to facilitate ease of businesses and passengers\u2019 movements in the state.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nThe Director, Development and Finance of the\u00a0 CBN, Mr Phillip Yusuf, disclosed during an inspection of the project , held in collaboration with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) at the\u00a0 Marina, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, this is one of the projects the apex bank and some deposit money banks are supporting under its N1trillion DCR Intervention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe total amount that we have made available for this line is N60billion, we had disbursed N45 billion, there is another tranche of N15 billion due.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, we can see the progress matches the disbursement that had been made so far. This is just one of the many projects under its DCR Intervention,\u2019\u2019he said.<\/p>\n<p>Yusuf expressed satisfaction over work done and the solid structure being put in place by the contractor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am quite impressed with what I see on ground, LAMATA had taken us round and we can see the solid structure that is being put in place in Marina. I am confident\u00a0 based on our observations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe quality of work is quite impressive and they had shown us all the work done\u00a0 so far. Luckily,\u00a0 I am an engineer, I can appreciate the amount of work being done.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; Most importantly, I see young Nigerians welding, fabricating and there are over 500 jobs on site and for me,\u00a0 that is a very good take away,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Managing Director, LAMATA, Mrs Abimbola Akinajo, said, \u201cThe vision of the state is to ensure that this\u00a0 project will be operational in the first quarter of 2022, as we are on track.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, she said that\u00a0 LAMATA was\u00a0 at present constructing the first operational phase of the blue line, adding that five stations at\u00a0 Mile 2, Alaba, Iganmu, National Theatre and the\u00a0 Marina would be constructed within the axis.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the\u00a0 Marina\u00a0 station would actually\u00a0 serve as\u00a0 the hub in Lagos State because both the blue and red lines would\u00a0 terminate at their and the green line which would come from Lekki would also terminate at the\u00a0 Marina station.<\/p>\n<p>Akinajo said that\u00a0 the Marina station would serve as an\u00a0 interchange because every form of transportation would be catered for there: BRT, regular busses, ferry and others.<\/p>\n<p>She,\u00a0 therefore,\u00a0 sought stakeholders\u2019 collaboration on the project to enable the state government achieve its aim, stressing that three sets of coaches would commence on the line in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>She said that each of the coaches would carry not less than a thousand passengers,\u00a0 saying the signaling system in place, would allow the movement of train every three minutes during peak hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the major things in every project is funding and with the support we have from the\u00a0 CBN and three other\u00a0 banks- Sterling, Fidelity and Access, we will ensure we meet our goal and target which is last the\u00a0 quarter of 2022,\u201d Akinajo said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_6169055718173053036ymail_android_signature\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said on Thursday that it had supported the Lagos State Blue railway line project with N60 billion to facilitate ease of businesses and passengers\u2019&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":85971,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-87067","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
