{"id":87149,"date":"2021-10-18T10:49:45","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T09:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=87149"},"modified":"2021-10-18T10:49:45","modified_gmt":"2021-10-18T09:49:45","slug":"efcc-urged-to-probe-alleged-graft-against-nlrc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/efcc-urged-to-probe-alleged-graft-against-nlrc\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC urged to probe alleged graft against NLRC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1713949672053430238\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A non-governmental organisation, Global Integrity Crusade Network, GICN, yesterday, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, and the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, not to shield any employee of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, NLRC, from investigation and prosecution over allegations of corruption.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Staff members of the agency had embarked on a nationwide strike, last month, accusing the Director-General, Mr Lanre Gbajabiamila, of high-handedness.Secretary, Association of Civil Servants of Nigeria, NLRC unit, Mrs. Anastesia Ijobo, had also urged the EFCC to probe certain suspicious transactions authorised by the commission\u2019s management amounting to over N2 billion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The EFCC had invited some staff of the commission for interrogation, but no charges have been filed.
