{"id":87429,"date":"2021-10-23T09:58:19","date_gmt":"2021-10-23T08:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=87429"},"modified":"2021-10-23T09:58:19","modified_gmt":"2021-10-23T08:58:19","slug":"first-bank-denies-otedolas-acquisition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/first-bank-denies-otedolas-acquisition\/","title":{"rendered":"First Bank Denies Otedola\u2019s Acquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m14500\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">FBN Holdings (FBNH) Plc has denied the purported acquisition of a majority stake in the company by Mr Femi Otedola.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal  \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nThe company in a statement pasted on the website of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Ltd. said it was yet to receive any notification of the purported acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>The statement signed by the FBNH Company Secretary, Mr Seyi Kosoko, said the company would notify the appropriate agencies and authorities whenever it received any notice of significant shareholding by the shareholders and its registrars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attention of FBNH has been drawn to media reports of today, Oct. 22, purporting that a certain individual has acquired significant shareholding interest in FBN Holdings, making him the majority shareholder in the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a listed company, the shares of FBN Holdings are publicly traded, and sale and acquisition of shares is expected in the normal course of business,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n<p>It added that the company operated in a regulated environment, which required notification of significant shareholding by shareholders to the company, where shares were held in different vehicles, further to which the company would notify the regulators and the public as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company is yet to receive any notification from the individual mentioned in the media report, of such acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>FBN Holdings Plc will always notify the appropriate agencies and authorities whenever it receives any notice of significant shareholding by the shareholders and the company\u2019s registrars,\u201d continued the statement.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FBN Holdings (FBNH) Plc has denied the purported acquisition of a majority stake in the company by Mr Femi Otedola.
