{"id":87624,"date":"2021-10-26T20:42:15","date_gmt":"2021-10-26T19:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=87624"},"modified":"2021-10-26T20:42:15","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T19:42:15","slug":"apc-leaders-former-governor-will-defect-to-pdp-soon-saraki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/apc-leaders-former-governor-will-defect-to-pdp-soon-saraki\/","title":{"rendered":"APC leaders, former governor will defect to PDP soon &#8211; Saraki"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1714710551474032571\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A \u00a0former president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has hinted that a former governor and some bigwigs will soon defect from the All <span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD9\">Progressives<\/span>\u00a0Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<p>During an interview on\u00a0<em>Arise TV<\/em>\u00a0on Tuesday, the former Kwara State governor said the APC members were currently concluding plans to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2023 general election across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Saraki also hinted that there will be a gale of defection this week.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe have the\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD8\">potentials<\/span>\u00a0to turn the country around and that is why I believe with the right\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD6\">leadership<\/span>, things can change in the country. I often say that no one can give whatever he does not have. In 2023, we have to get it right and to do that, we\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD7\">needed<\/span>\u00a0the right kind of\u00a0leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were certain governors that we already know that they will leave. And we were not surprised that they defected to the APC. Since then, we have had some bigwigs that joined us. Also in this week, there is a former governor that is going to join our party, PDP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAside from that, we know that some of the\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD5\">leaders<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD11\">the ruling<\/span>\u00a0party will not defect early, rather they do it late. And you saw that during the 2015 election. So, keep watching, And Nigerians will not be surprised when they begin to see some defections from\u00a0the ruling\u00a0party to the PDP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saraki said he was not planning to return to APC in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cOn\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD1\">the question<\/span>\u00a0that if I decide to run and don\u2019t get the ticket, would I defect? I think that is not really\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD3\">fair<\/span>. In 2015, I ran for the presidency and didn\u2019t get it, but I offered myself to be the DG of Atiku, and I worked hard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a team player; personal\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD2\">ambition<\/span>\u00a0is not what the issue is today; what is important is to get this country right. I have my children and grandchildren, and we must leave a better country with\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD4\">jobs<\/span>\u00a0for our\u00a0<span id=\"m_-2099166555533843451IL_AD10\">talented<\/span>youths.
