The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Accreditation Sub-Committee, said<\/div>\n
\n

efforts are ongoing to resolve litigations regarding the delegates list
\nto the Oct. 30 national convention of the party.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Sub-committee and Governor of Delta, Dr Ifeanyi
\nOkowa, stated this during the sub-committee\u2019s meeting held on Tuesday in
\nAbuja.<\/p>\n

He said that the party and its various committees for the convention are
\nputting everything in place to ensure that the national convention is
\nhitch-free.<\/p>\n

Okowa assured that all issues regarding some states in court over
\nconflicting delegates list will be amicably resolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also trying to look at all the issues, including some people
\ntrying to stop some delegates at the court.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think we are on top of all that, we will handle it and at the end
\nof the day, by Thursday, we will have the total accredited number of
\ndelegates.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I will give you the number of delegates when we meet on Friday
\nmorning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not worried about what is going on, we always have a way of
\nresolving our issues and God is always with us.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see that most of the positions and aspirants are unopposed. So
\nthat shows you that the party is on course for a successful National
\nConvention,\u201d Okowa said.<\/p>\n

He said that in Ekiti and one other state, PDP still has issues of
\npeople contending in court as to whether some elected officials at the
\nstate should be on the list or not.<\/p>\n

He said that the party\u2019s legal adviser will offer his advice on how to
\ngo about the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe may likely not have conflicting delegates, but wherever we think
\nthat there is a court order, we have no choice than to exit those
\ndelegates.<\/p>\n

\u201cExcept for the statutory delegates, who by their right and positions
\nheld in the past are not by reasons of election supposed to delegate,\u201d
\nhe said.<\/p>\n

Okowa said that no fewer than 3,000 delegates are expected at the
\nnational convention, adding that the delegates knew themselves.<\/p>\n

Okowa also said the accreditation sub\u2013committee was critical to the
\nsuccess of the party\u2019s national convention, addin that the sub-committee
\nis working hard to get it right.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do realise that if we get the process of accreditation right, we
\nwill largely have gotten the convention right. We do not pray that we
