{"id":88028,"date":"2021-11-04T10:58:52","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T09:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=88028"},"modified":"2021-11-04T10:58:52","modified_gmt":"2021-11-04T09:58:52","slug":"jamb-remits-n3-51bn-as-2021-operating-surplus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/jamb-remits-n3-51bn-as-2021-operating-surplus\/","title":{"rendered":"JAMB Remits N3.51bn As 2021 Operating Surplus"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1715485432934428527\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has remitted N3.51 billion to the national treasury as part of its 2021 operating surplus.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nThe board disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin said the 2021 remittance was in line with Prof. Is-haq Oloyede\u2019s avowed commitment to prudent management of public resources.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, commitment to probity coupled with the adoption of international best practices make for cost-effective operational processes and attendant savings to yield those humongous remittances to government coffers.<\/p>\n<p>He said this was the norm rather than the exception in the last six years beginning from 2016 when Oloyede remitted the whopping sum of N7 billion and repeated same in subsequent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is pertinent to note that one of the direct benefits of the sustained remittances by the Prof. Oloyede-led management manifested in the reduction of the cost of the application documents (UTME and DE) by candidates from N5,000 to N3,500 in 2018 by President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis singular act has ensured the annual transfer of over N3 billion to the pockets of parents and guardians of candidates as a consequence of the slash in the price of UTME forms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board, led by Prof. Oloyede will continue to prune down the cost of governance and release resources for other needy national prioritise areas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_-7592180576244925177ymail_android_signature\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has remitted N3.51 billion to the national treasury as part of its 2021 operating surplus.
