{"id":88091,"date":"2021-11-05T18:52:55","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T17:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=88091"},"modified":"2021-11-05T18:52:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T17:52:55","slug":"anambra-guber-polls-nbc-reads-riot-act-to-broadcast-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/anambra-guber-polls-nbc-reads-riot-act-to-broadcast-stations\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra Guber Polls: NBC Reads Riot Act To Broadcast Stations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1715610027204127605\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has warned all broadcast stations to ensure that their broadcast during the Anambra State governorship election does not contain anything which amounts to subversion of constituted authority or compromises the unity, or corporate existence of Nigeria as a sovereign state.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nNBC also reminded all broadcasters covering the Anambra State governorship election to take note of the provisions of the Extant Electoral Laws, the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, and other relevant regulations guiding the broadcast of elections in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>A statement in Abuja signed by the director-general, Balarabe Ilelah, also urged broadcast stations to avert language or scenes likely to encourage or incite crime, or lead to disorder, is not broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>Ilelah, however, urged all broadcasters to desist from using or allowing their platforms and facilities to be used for the broadcast of content that may lead to the breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n<p>He also advised the station not to transmit divisive materials that may threaten or compromise the indivisibility and indissolubility of Nigeria as a sovereign state.<\/p>\n<p>The NBC helmsman added that the \u2018\u2019NBC ACT CAP N11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, also prescribes, in the Third Schedule 12(6) that \u201cA licensee shall be responsible for the content of the station\u2019s broadcast.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_1248658141115450401ymail_android_signature\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has warned all broadcast stations to ensure that their broadcast during the Anambra State governorship election does not contain anything which amounts to subversion of constituted&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":88092,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-88091","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
