{"id":88145,"date":"2021-11-06T17:50:03","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T16:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=88145"},"modified":"2021-11-06T17:50:03","modified_gmt":"2021-11-06T16:50:03","slug":"police-deny-trending-video-of-police-protesting-non-payment-for-anambra-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/police-deny-trending-video-of-police-protesting-non-payment-for-anambra-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Police deny trending video of police protesting non-payment for Anambra election"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m17992\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police in Anambra state has refuted a trending video of policemen allegedly protesting about payment for the election duty.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal  \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThough the video showed men chanting songs, wordings accompanying the video stated that the men were protesting non-payment of allowances for the election.<\/p>\n<p>But police in Anambra has denied it, saying that the men were rather in high spirit, chanting victory songs as they awaited their last minute posting to places of assignments for the election.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, DCP Aderemi Adeoye ssid: \u201cThe alleged video of police officers protesting for non \u2013 payment is not true as been portrayed in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA careful study of the video shows a group personnel in high spirit awaiting deployment for the election were chanting victory songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Police Command remains focused and committed in protecting the sanity of the electoral process in Anambra state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, leader of police operations in Anambra, DIG Zaki Ahmed had told journalists in a press conference that it is the first time police men were paid their full allowances for election duty before commencement of operations.<\/p>\n<p>Our Correspondent gathered that police officers for the Anambra election submitted their bank details and their IPPIS for their payment, and it is being handled by the Federal government and not the police, a source said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police in Anambra state has refuted a trending video of policemen allegedly protesting about payment for the election duty.
