{"id":89076,"date":"2021-11-25T15:27:01","date_gmt":"2021-11-25T14:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=89076"},"modified":"2021-11-25T15:27:01","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T14:27:01","slug":"reps-probe-uncompleted-n200bn-lokoja-benin-road-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/reps-probe-uncompleted-n200bn-lokoja-benin-road-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Reps probe uncompleted N200bn Lokoja-Benin Road project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m21379\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The House of Representatives has ordered an investigation of the rehabilitation and expansion of the road linking Lokoja in Kogi State to Benin in Edo State which has gulped N200bn.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal  \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nA member of the House, Johnson Oghuma, called for a probe into the alleged slow pace of the project at the plenary on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Moving the motion titled, \u2018Need to Investigate the Utilisation of Over 200 Billion Naira on Construction of Lokoja to Benin Road,\u2019 Oghuma noted that the dualisation of the Lokoja\u2013Benin federal highway, from Obajana junction to Benin City, was awarded to a consortium of contractors in 1999 with a completion date of December 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmaker said, \u201cOver N200bn has been budgeted from 1999 to 2021, in addition to the various loans and interventions projects such as SUKUK, among others.
