{"id":89615,"date":"2021-12-08T11:12:55","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T10:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=89615"},"modified":"2021-12-08T11:12:55","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T10:12:55","slug":"beijing-winter-games-china-carpets-us-says-boycott-violates-olympic-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/uncategorized\/beijing-winter-games-china-carpets-us-says-boycott-violates-olympic-spirit\/","title":{"rendered":"Beijing Winter Games: China Carpets US, Says Boycott Violates Olympic Spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m23792\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">China has accused the United States of violating the Olympic spirit by announcing an American diplomatic boycott of February\u2019s Beijing Winter Games, amid an increasingly bitter feud over the Biden administration\u2019s decision not to send officials over human rights concerns.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">The U.S. is attempting to interfere with the Beijing Winter Olympics \u201cout of ideological prejudice and based on lies and rumors,\u201d Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian told reporters at a daily briefing.The boycott \u201cseriously violates the principle of political neutrality of sports established by the Olympic Charter and runs counter to the Olympic motto \u2018more united,&#8217;\u201d Zhao said.<\/p>\n<p>As he did the previous day, Zhao vowed that China would respond with \u201cresolute countermeasures\u201d but offered no details.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. will pay a price for its practices.
