{"id":89734,"date":"2021-12-10T17:15:01","date_gmt":"2021-12-10T16:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=89734"},"modified":"2021-12-10T17:15:01","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T16:15:01","slug":"breaking-gunmen-kill-monarch-dump-body-in-market-square","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/breaking-gunmen-kill-monarch-dump-body-in-market-square\/","title":{"rendered":"(BREAKING): Gunmen Kill Monarch, Dump Body In Market Square"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Gunmen have murdered the traditional ruler of Atta ancient kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, Edwin Azike.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nHis corpse was found at the market square in the community on Friday morning after he was abducted on Thursday.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nA community source, who craved anonymity\u00a0 said that four persons were shot dead on Thursday in the community after the monarch was kidnapped.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe source said, \u201cThe traditional ruler of Atta ancient kingdom in the Njaba LGA, Eze Edwin Azike, has been murdered. His lifeless body was dumped at the market square and the villagers discovered it this morning. He was kidnapped on Thursday and thereafter, the community was invaded which led to the killing of four persons.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe chairman of Traditional Rulers Council\/ Community Policing in the state, Eze Emma Okeke, said that the monarchs in the state were saddened by the killing of their colleague.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Describing the killing of Azike as an abomination, Okeke said that the council was on Friday morning informed of the killing of the traditional ruler.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nHe said, \u201cWe have got the sad news about the killing of Eze Edwin Azike. This is abominable in Igbo culture. I don\u2019t know why traditional rulers are being hunted like this. We are not politicians, we are only custodians of the culture of our people.
