Oil mogul, Femi Otedola may approach the court to compel the police and the State Security Services (SSS) to release the video of the bribery event which allegedly has Faruk Lawan receiving the $620,000 bribe at Otedola’s home and stuffing the cash into his pockets and hat.<\/p>\n
The boss of Zenon Oil and Gas Ltd may also drag the House of Representatives to court for defamation and for allegedly maligning his character as a business man.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com learnt that the move is sequel to friday’s resolution where the House decided to put back Zenon on the list of fradulent oil marketers indicted by the already tainted Faruk Lawan’s adhoc committee.<\/p>\n
The House suspended Lawan, and referred his case to the Ethics Committee. Lawan, a ranking legislator since 1999 and member of the ruling People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP), was accused of receiving $620,000 gratification from\u00a0 Otedola, to expunge , Zenon Oil and Gas Ltd, from the list of indicted oil marketers.<\/p>\n
But Femi Otedola has threatened court action saying the House dragged his reputation into disrepute by involving him in a sector which is not even his line of business. Chief Femi Otedola, a major player in the bribery saga over the probe into the management of oil subsidy, is also angry at insinuations by some House members that he framed Lawan and that he (Otedola) is just as guilty.<\/p>\n
Otedola, it was learnt, believes the failure of the police and the State Security Service (SSS) to make public the video recording he gave them is causing him a lot of damage.<\/p>\n
