{"id":9024,"date":"2013-01-31T23:18:45","date_gmt":"2013-01-31T22:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=9024"},"modified":"2013-01-31T23:18:45","modified_gmt":"2013-01-31T22:18:45","slug":"bayelsa-earmark-n300-million-for-health-insurance-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/bayelsa-earmark-n300-million-for-health-insurance-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayelsa Earmark N300 Million For Health Insurance Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bayelsa State Government has set aside N300 million to kick start the State health insurance scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Seriake Dickson disclosed this during a working visit to medical facilities in the state.<\/p>\n<p>At the Diete Koki Memorial hospital, Opolo in the State capital, Governor Dickson directed that the medical facility be expanded with the provision of state of the art medical equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor who was accompanied by top government functionaries and some foreign medical experts directed the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Anapurere Awoli to liasise with his Lands and Survey counterpart to evaluate the cost and other modalities for the expansion and equipping of the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The Medical Director and Chief Consultant of the specialist hospital, Dr. Victor Odogu conducted the Governor round the various wards which include, accident and emergency wards, pharmacy as well as out-patient wards.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr. Odogu, who expressed appreciation with the Governor for visiting the health facility, explained that plans are on to transform the Diete Koki Hospital to a word class facility.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Dickson who also visited the Melford Okilo Memorial Hospital, said the Diagnostic Centre under construction, would be run by Dr. Folabi Ogunlesi, Managing Partner, Vester Health Care Partner, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Dr. Ogunlesi, who spoke on behalf of the visiting medical team, explained that the team is working at improving the functionality of medical health care delivery in Bayelsa State.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bayelsa State Government has set aside N300 million to kick start the State health insurance scheme.
