Crisis is looming in the Apostolic Christian Church Mission, (ACCM) Nigeria, over plans to install a new president of the Church without following the constitutional procedures stipulated by the constitution of the Church.<\/div>\n

\u00a0The immediate past president of the Church, Rev. Apostle John Alozie Nwaugbor, died on October 26, 2021. Pointblanknews.com gathered that the Church had lost its last four presidents including Nwugbor, within the last one year. The Church also operates a seven man Board of Trustees (BOT) where three members can form quorum to install a new president. However, the Church currently has only two surviving BOT members. The ACCM Constitution also stipulated that the late president must be buried before the installation of his successor.<\/div>\n

But in a move which has caused tension in the Church, two Reverend Apostles of the Church; Paul Chukwuma Erondu , Rev. Apostle Ephraim Omeonu Akwarandu and the two surviving BOT members have fixed a convention for Friday January 7, 2022, to install a new president.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Dissatisfied with the action of the Reverend Apostles and the surviving BOT members, the laity of the Church led by Elder Godwin Nna, Eze Elder Prof. Sunday Owualah, Elder Hanson Amaechi and six others have filed a suit at an Abia State High Court sitting in Aba, praying for an injunction restraining the Apostles from installing a new president before the burial of the former president without the BOT duly constituted.<\/div>\n

The laity stated that the convocation of a convention for the installation of a new president of the church when the immediate past president has not been buried is in contravention of the Constitution of the Church.<\/div>\n

They also stated the Church operates an incorporated trusteeship where its operations as well as activities, powers, duties, and function of every officer, in person, body, organ or authority is well regulated and runs in accordance with the provisions of the\u00a0 Church\u2019s Constitution.<\/div>\n

Pointblanknews.com further gathered that the laity has also petitioned the Abia State Commissioner of Police; State Director of the Department of State Services(DSS) and other heads of security agencies in the State to avert a breakdown of law and order since the Reverend Apostles Erondu and Akwarandu and the two surviving BOT members insist on holding the convention against the Constitution of the Church.<\/div>\n
