\nThe Catholic prelate, who urged them to be friendly, called on the government to provide necessary facilities that would help their services to the nation.<\/p>\n
Bishop Ezeokafor said this during a Holy Mass to commemorate the 2022-Armed Forces Remembrance Day at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.<\/p>\n
Bishop Ezeokafor said Armed Forces were for a mission as they were formed, trained and sent out to serve members of the society. “It is a responsibility that requires serious attention.<\/p>\n
“Because they live out their best to serve the government and the masses, it is important that governments at all levels will give them necessary support to make their work successful while carrying out their duties.<\/p>\n
“Let me remind you that you are serving the public and ought to have a friendly disposition, be polite and stop treating the people like animals.”<\/p>\n
The Bishop, however, called for assistance of all the retired members in offering support to the government and the security in general, as well as praying for the fallen heroes who lost their lives.<\/p>\n
Gov. Willie Obiano stressed the need for Nigerians to show gratitude to the Armed Forces for dedicating their lives in serving the nation<\/p>\n
He acknowledged that the Armed Forces had paid great sacrifices for the country and World at large, the serving, retired and the dead, there was the need for the people to always show them love.<\/p>\n
Gov. Obiano used the opportunity to appreciate the security agencies in the state for their support and zeal at ensuring peace in the area.<\/p>\n
The Executive Chairman, Nigeria Legion, Anambra State Council, Maj.- Gen. Benedict Agbogu, who said that the Armed Forces were trained to protect life and property, urged the FG to always listen to the plight of the security personnel, who were in the battle line of peace-keeping.<\/p>\n
