The Governors of the 36 States have scheduled a meeting for Wednesday in Abuja to discuss \u201cpressing national concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n
The spokesman of the Nigeria Governors\u2019 Forum (NGF), Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, who disclosed this in a statement, was however silent on what constitutes \u201cpressing national concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bello-Barkindo also described the meeting, scheduled to hold at the NGF secretariat, as a \u201cvery crucial meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n
The meeting, planned to commence by 8pm, is the NGF\u2019s first this year and members are expected to attend in person.<\/p>\n
The statement reads: \u201cThe Chairman of the Nigeria Governors\u2019 Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi is inviting all the 36 Governors to a very crucial meeting where pressing national concerns will be discussed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe meeting is for Wednesday January 19th 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to an invitation issued by the Director General of the Forum, Mr. Asishana Bayo Okauru at the weekend and sent to all the respective Governors, the meeting, which will be the first in 2022, will be an in-person meeting as opposed to the regular virtual ones, to effectively convey the messages of the meeting, which are all characterised under item 2 of the agenda titled matters arising.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo also feature prominently are the interventions programs like the regular updates from the Nigeria Governors\u2019 Forum State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability \u00b7 (SFTAS) team and another on CARES, as well as a few presentations.<\/p>\n
