As 2023 general election gathers momentum, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has warned that proxy war against the presidential aspiration of the former Vice President by notable politicians in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was unfortunate and will be resisted.<\/div>\n

Segun Showunmi, a former director of media in Atiku’s 2019 presidential campaign in an opinion article titled ‘Re Atiku, Saraki, Tambuwal in proxy war over PDP ticket’ called out former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Sokoto State governor, Waziri Tambuwal for their roles in the proxy war against the former Vice President.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him, “<\/span>My attention was called to the funny mumble jumble that serious-minded people ought not to give a second look save for it contains the name of Waziri Atiku Abubakar. We are now in the season of politics, and every child is an expert.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“If the kindergarten phrase resembles them, perhaps it is them. I suppose Atiku will be the issue till the end of this exercise.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“At a more auspicious moment, I will discuss the role of Atiku Abubakar in the political life of a few of those mentioned, including how one of them got to win a primary election that made him governor of a north central state.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“I will equally espouse the schemer in chief from the northwest, or are we expected to forget quickly how they became speaker and his counterpart became senate president in the most despicable betrayal of anything decent, and the most problematic gambit any nation has ever seen in political party organisation.<\/div>\n

“The part that interests me is the so-called bulk never-ending on Atiku Abubakar\u2019s table. Like seriously, please ask them if any of those mentioned have ever gone through the process of civil service examinations or paramilitary requirements of a promotion? It is funny for their lackey to suddenly imagine that a failed banking career, or some neither here nor there back office law career is anything close to the experience of the rigour, training, and mentorship of a career the likes of Atiku got from working in the Nigerian customs service and rising to the rank of deputy.<\/div>\n

“Or is it the nothing to show for it governorship of some of their states that has left Ilorin so backwards compared to states that where created at the same time or even much younger states? Or is it the joke of sokoto that this fellows and their paymasters want to compare to the experience of a Vice President of the likes of Atiku Abubakar forgetting that if at all the party they claim they want the platform will showcase any respectable scorecard in government, it is the years of Obasanjo\/Atiku presidency. That the suggestion that a Vice President is not experienced when it comes to the roles and responsibilities of what is expected of a President, then clearly their principals are kindergartens.<\/div>\n

“I make very bold to say that none of them can come to the table with anything that resemble an idea of the type of work and composite experience, nor boldness of thoughts that the post Buhari Nigerian President will need. In this regards truly they are kindergartners simple looking for the pecks and privilege of office without the ability to do the job. And again I say Nigeria cannot afford a jump from the frying pan to the fire.<\/div>\n

“Finally this nonsense where this baby aspirants like to fool themselves thinking they are de marketing Atiku Abubakar reminds me of the Yoruba story of the animal kingdom where foolish animal agreed to kill their all fathers, only the wise Dog kept his in a safe place to run to him every time a crisis appeared while the other not so wise animals had no where to turn. I suppose it is appropriate that all persons be advised to be more circumspect as we battle for the ticket of PDP.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
