A chieftain of All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Abia state and the Acting Chairman of Rural Electrification Agency, Engr. Alozie Solomon , has accused the Senator Abdullahi Adamu led APC national reconciliation committee of working for the Senator Orji Uzor Kalu faction during the committee\u2019s visit to the state.<\/p>\n
Solomon made the allegation in Umuahia, over the comment made by Sen. Abdullahi Adamu that since Chief Ikechi Emenike, whom he referred to as a complainant in the matter \u2018did not attend the reconciliation meeting, \u201cthat his committee knows what to do,\u201d<\/p>\n
Recall that the APC in Abia is divided between the mainstream Emenike group and the faction led by Kalu and ex chairman of the party, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa.<\/p>\n
The 9 member Reconciliation Committee, set up by Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, which was inaugurated with a term of reference to harmonize all differences in the APC, has been visiting state chapters to reconcile warring party members.<\/p>\n
The APC chieftain lamented that the reconciliation committee leadership has exhibited favouritism, partiality and compromise in handling the issue of Abia APC, by leaning to the Kalu faction because of Adamu\u2019s long standing relationship with the latter as his colleague.<\/p>\n
Adamu was said to have assured members of Orji Uzor Kalu\u2019s group \u201cthat the case is over in their favour\u201d, which ignited jubilation of victory by the Kalu faction. Pointblanknews.com gathered that Emenike had in his written response to the Committee stated that the petitions written by Kalu\u2019s group were baseless, riddled with lies and urged the committee to dismiss it.<\/p>\n
The APC chieftain, however, alleged that Adamu\u2019s bias disposition did not allow him to apply common sense where he openly told journalists that\u00a0 Emenike didn\u2019t come,\u00a0but maintained sealed\u00a0 lips on Kalu\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n
According to Solomon, \u201cWhen Adamu and his members met with Abia warring groups for reconciliation on January 14th, 2022,\u00a0 \u00a0both Chief Emenike and Sen. Orji Kalu, leaders of both groups didn\u2019t appear in person at the meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut to show his regard to the reconciliation committee and their leader, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, a long standing friend of Orji Kalu, Emenike still made a written presentation and sent, even when it was clear to him that the case was already prejudged and decided ahead of time, by the Committee leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cSen. Orji Uzor Kalu had earlier\u00a0told whoever that cares to listen that he will use the reconciliation committee headed by his friend Senator Abdullahi Adamu to get whatsoever he had lost at the Congress that was held in Abia in which he totally lost. It was on this premise that Sen. Kalu absented himself from the meeting, but sent delegates, so that he won\u2019t be suspected to have influenced the already known outcome of the meeting\u00a0before it started.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a well scripted drama that played out, which Adamu unknowing gave out by his comment that \u201che already knows what to do since Emenike did not attend\u201d, as well as referring to Emenike as a Complanant, when he Emenike did not write any petition.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was during the interviews that he referred to Emenike as the Complainant, who did not appear to defend himself, and therefore openly declared that \u201chis committee knows what to do, and assured Kalu\u2019s group that the case is over in their favour.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was also on this standing and assurance, that One Mr. Acho Obioma who claimed to have emerged a factional Chairman of an unknown congress where he said that he scored 298 votes,\u00a0 went to radio stations on January 15 to announce that the reconciliation committee has handed the party back to the Sen. Orji\u2019s group as Emenike didn\u2019t appear.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis sparked off jubilation among their members when the Committee is yet to submit their report to CECPC. Emenike did not write the petition,\u00a0 why should Adamu refer to him as complainant, while he said nothing about Kalu who did not appear in person to the meeting and he said nothing about his absence, indication that he has already taken sides like one compromised.<\/p>\n
He called on the leadership of the CECPC to be wary of any report that will be submitted by Adamu led Committee because of their bias.<\/p>\n
