One Sunday Oyedele has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling three-year-old neighbour (name withheld) by the Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State.<\/p>\n
Oyedele was sentenced by Justice Abiola Soladoye on one-count charge of defilement.<\/p>\n
The prosecution team, Olusola Soneye, Arinola Momoh-Ayokanbi, and Olufunke Adegoke, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at the Itamaga area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, in November 2017.<\/p>\n
Ruling, Justice Soladoye, who described Oyedele as a \u201csexual monster\u201d, said the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n
The Judge said: \u201cThe defilement saga is unfortunate, the defendant is a sexual monster, a paedophile who should be locked away.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe charge against the defendant has been proven beyond reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe defendant having been found guilty is sentenced to life imprisonment with no option of fine.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is also to have his name registered in the Sex Offenders Register as maintained by the Lagos State Government.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Star reports that during the trial of Oyedele, four witnesses including a medical doctor from the Mirabel Centre (a Sexual Assault Referral Centre), Dr. Oyedeji Alagbe, testified for the prosecution.<\/p>\n
