{"id":91253,"date":"2022-01-27T16:33:27","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T15:33:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=91253"},"modified":"2022-01-27T16:33:27","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T15:33:27","slug":"opeyemi-bamidele-dayo-adeyeye-femi-bamisile-four-other-withdraw-from-apc-primary-election-in-ekiti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/opeyemi-bamidele-dayo-adeyeye-femi-bamisile-four-other-withdraw-from-apc-primary-election-in-ekiti\/","title":{"rendered":"Opeyemi Bamidele, Dayo Adeyeye, Femi Bamisile, Four Other Withdraw From APC Primary Election in Ekiti"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">No fewer than seven governorship aspirants seeking to become the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti election including a member House of Reps Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Hon Bamisile have withdrawn from the party\u2019s primary over alleged irregularities on the part of the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.<\/p>\n<p>Other aspirants that have decided to back down on the exercise were Kayode Mojo, Demola Popoola, Femi Bamisile, Bamidele Faparusi, and Afolabi Oluwasola<\/p>\n<p>They alleged that part of the manipulation strategy adopted by the governor for the exercise on Thursday was to ensure that the primary election committee members were his loyalists.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Thursday, the aspirants said there is no way the exercise will be fair with the calibre of people sitting on the primary election committees.<\/p>\n<p>The seven aspirants herein received with rude shock and dismay the purported list of local government election committee and ward election committee made up solely by party members and political appointees that had before now openly endorsed the candidacy of Biodun Oyebanji the immediate past secretary to the state government,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is on record that the government of Governor Kayode Fayemi has given its unwavering support to the candidacy of Biodun Oyebanji, it is common knowledge that the Governor and most appointees of the governor are openly rooting for and supporting Biodun Oyebanji\u2019s aspiration to become the flag bearer of our great party.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cWhat is more disturbing is the fact that a simple glance at the names of the persons appointed as members of both committees would reveal that it is made up of appointees of government who are all supporters of a candidate in the primary election they are appointed to superintend on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The aspirants asked the party to reconstitute the primary election committees across the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe seven candidates herein are loyal, faithful and committed party members who are sincerely concerned about the chances of the party in the forthcoming 2022 governorship election where an imposition is allowed to override a democratic primary election for determining its flag bearer,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe request\u00a0 that both the local government election committee and ward election committee was constituted on the list already in circulation be disbanded and replaced with names that would reinforce internal democracy and uphold the aims and objectives of the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No fewer than seven governorship aspirants seeking to become the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti election including a member House of Reps Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Dayo Adeyeye,&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":91254,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-91253","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
