\nChairman of the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, has extended an olive branch to aggrieved members of the party in the state.<\/p>\n

Recall that the APC in Abia has been enmeshed into a struggle for the control of the party between the mainstream Chief Ikechi Emenike group and the Senator Orji Uzor Kalu\/ Hon. Donatus Nwankpa faction.<\/p>\n

However, the Emenike group is recognized by the national leadership of the party.<\/p>\n

Ononogbu who stated this during the inauguration of the state and local government executives of the party, explained that some members who lost out in the congress could be bearing grudges and anger, stressing that he was ready to heal all wounds.<\/p>\n

“I’m ready to apologize to any person with genuine grievances. I don’t want to lead a party that is divided. I want to lead Abia APC that is a united team to the 2023 general election.”<\/p>\n

He insisted that that there is no crisis in the Abia APC as only those that failed to participate in the revalidation of party membership exercise last year have been making noise portraying it as if there is crisis in the party.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbia was not listed among the crisis states by the national leadership of APC, hence my inauguration as state chairman. I charge party leaders to hit the ground running because of the enormous task ahead and the limited time frame. This is the time for work. We have to tell people that we have genuine alternative and that all those good things we see in other states are possible in Abia.”<\/p>\n

Lamenting what he described as low level of development in Abia, Ononogbu attributed the problem to the choice of bad leaders, stressing that the state has always been unlucky to be foisted with unprepared governors who lack the ability to preside over the affairs of a state.<\/p>\n

He further stated that there is no reason for Abia to lag behind Lagos, Rivers, Ebonyi and other states with visionary leaders and added that with APC, the state will be counted among the states where the development has taken place.<\/p>\n

\u201cAPC has a high quality team that would turn Abia around. With a development economist in the person of Chief Ikechi Emenike and myself, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu as State chairman with solid background in finance, Abia would be in good hands under APC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“We can only demonstrate what we are talking about if we are voted into power. All party members should take it upon themselves to preach the gospel of APC in all the nooks and crannies of Abia state.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
