{"id":91944,"date":"2022-02-17T10:13:43","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T09:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=91944"},"modified":"2022-02-17T10:13:43","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T09:13:43","slug":"fg-approves-2-81bn-n4-96bn-for-railway-neco-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/fg-approves-2-81bn-n4-96bn-for-railway-neco-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Approves $2.81bn, N4.96bn For Railway, NECO Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m37025\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Federal government has approved the sum of $2.810 billion for the Ministry of Transportation to procure rolling stocks and other operational and maintenance equipment for the Ibadan to Kano and Port Harcourt to Maiduguri rail lines.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal  \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nAlso, the council approved a printing contract for the National Examination Council (NECO), which was presented to FEC by the Ministry of Education at the sum of N4.965 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the minister of transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, said the contract was for the smooth running of the rail lines.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI have the approval of the cabinet to procure rolling stocks, operational and maintenance equipment for the new railway projects corridors in Ibadan to Kano standard gauge and Port Harcourt to Maiduguri narrow gauge rail lines to the tune of $2,810,574,064.92, including 7.5 percent tax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRolling stocks are consumables for the maintenance and operation of the railway. So, currently, anytime you hear of break down, which was discussed in the cabinet, it\u2019s because maybe we have run out of rolling stock and we\u2019ve also run out of stock for the railway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, with this, we will replace all the rolling stock.
