{"id":92040,"date":"2022-02-21T15:24:56","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T14:24:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=92040"},"modified":"2022-02-21T15:24:56","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T14:24:56","slug":"apc-postpones-convention-to-hold-zonal-congresses-march-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-postpones-convention-to-hold-zonal-congresses-march-26\/","title":{"rendered":"APC postpones convention, to hold zonal congresses March 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">For the umpteenth time, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has postponed its much anticipated national convention earlier scheduled for February 26.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Champion can authoritatively confirm that the convention may not hold earlier than June.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This is even as the party has written the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of its intention to hold zonal congresses on March 26.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the letter dated Monday February 21 with reference number: APC\/NHDQ\/INEC\/019\/22\/21, a copy of which was sighted by our correspondent, the party said the notice supersedes the earlier notice for National Convention with reference APC\/NHDQ\/INEC\/019\/22\/14 this is predicated on the evaluation of our Party Constitution.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Parts of the letter jointly signed by the national caretaker Chairman, Mai Mala Buni and secretary Sen James Akpanudoedehe, read, &#8220;In furtherance to Article 85 of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended) and compliance with Section 12:6 of our Party Constitution we hereby write to notify the Commission that our great Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled to hold its Zonal Congresses on Saturday 26 March, 2022.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Kindly arrange for your officials to monitor the exercise accordingly.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;While hoping to receive your cooperation, please accept the assurances of our highest esteem.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"adL\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the umpteenth time, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has postponed its much anticipated national convention earlier scheduled for February 26.
