{"id":92070,"date":"2022-02-22T18:51:08","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T17:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=92070"},"modified":"2022-02-22T18:51:08","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T17:51:08","slug":"2023-apc-to-swap-offices-between-north-south-in-agreed-zoning-formula","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/2023-apc-to-swap-offices-between-north-south-in-agreed-zoning-formula\/","title":{"rendered":"2023: APC to swap offices between North, South in agreed zoning formula"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1725485282315438676\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">THE All Progressives Congress, APC, has agreed on a zoning formula that will swap offices held between North and South.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nBy the arrangement, all offices that were occupied by northerners in the last eight years, will go to the south and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>This is just as President Muhammadu Buhari directed the party leadership to explore the option of consensus among other options in the choice of its national chairman in line with the party\u2019s tradition.<\/p>\n<p>These, among others, were the outcome of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and 19 governors elected on the platform of the APC at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The meeting was also attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking while briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, said contrary to reports in the media of division among the APC governors,\u00a0 agreement had been reached on zoning formula.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said: \u201cWe have agreed a zoning formula for all the six geo-political zones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssentially, northern zone will have the positions the south have had in the last eight years. And vice versa.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cIt is a very simple, equitable and fair formula.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will now go back and consult at the zonal level and look at the positions that are available and the process of the convention preparation we started in earnest.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cSo, by the grace of God, on the 26th of March, we would have done our national convention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kaduna State governor also said, \u201cWe are committed to ensure that the Peoples Destruction Party doesn\u2019t come back to power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen of the governors that were in attendance at the meeting are those of Yobe, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Cross River, Kaduna, Lagos, Borno, Niger, Gombe, Osun, Kebbi, Anambra dep, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kano, Imo, Kogi, Ogun, and Plateau states.<\/p>\n<p>The outgoing deputy governor of Anambra state was also in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>It was the governors of Ondo, Katsina and Zamfara that were not present during the briefing.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE All Progressives Congress, APC, has agreed on a zoning formula that will swap offices held between North and South.
