{"id":92720,"date":"2022-03-11T16:03:14","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T15:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=92720"},"modified":"2022-03-11T16:03:14","modified_gmt":"2022-03-11T15:03:14","slug":"inec-rejects-notice-of-apc-nec-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/inec-rejects-notice-of-apc-nec-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"INEC Rejects Notice Of APC NEC Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the notice of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.<\/p>\n<p>INEC secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, disclosed this in a letter dated March 9, 2022, and addressed to the party\u2019s national chairman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe commission draws your attention to the fact that the notice for the meeting was not signed by the National Chairman and National Secretary of the CECPC contrary to the provision of the Article 1.1.3 of the Commission\u2019s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Party Operations (2018),\u201d said Oriaran-Anthony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, the APC is reminded of the provision in Section 82(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 which requires \u2018at least 21 days\u2019 notice of any convention, congress, conference, or meeting convened for the purpose of \u2018merger\u2019 and electing members of its executive committees, other governing bodies or nominating candidates for any elective offices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile hoping these issues are noted for compliance, please accept the assurance of the commissions\u2019 warm regards.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the notice of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
