{"id":93409,"date":"2022-03-30T16:28:07","date_gmt":"2022-03-30T15:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=93409"},"modified":"2022-03-30T16:28:07","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T15:28:07","slug":"enugu-commissioner-edeoga-resigns-joins-guber-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/enugu-commissioner-edeoga-resigns-joins-guber-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Enugu Commissioner, Edeoga Resigns, Joins Guber Race"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Amidst tears, excitement and out pouring of emotions, Barr Chijioke Edeoga, State Commissioner for Environment and Solid Minerals, has resigned from the Enugu State Executive Council, and bade farewell to staff of the Ministry where he served last.<\/p>\n<p>In his farewell remarks, Edeoga expressed immense gratitude to God for the time and period he superintendent over the affairs of the Ministry as a Commissioner from 2019 to the date of his resignation.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked the management and staff of the ministry for their undiluted support and cooperation while he worked with them.<\/p>\n<p>The former Commissioner also thanked the Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for finding him worthy to server under his administration as Commissioner since 2015 .<\/p>\n<p>He told the staff of the ministry and the teeming crowd who witnessed the event that he had voluntarily tendered his resignation in order to pursue his political aspiration and also to align himself to the provisions of the newly amended Electoral Act, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>He stated: \u201cRegarding the 2023 election, the justice of the matter is on our side. The voices of the majority of the people are properly aligned. Victory by God\u2019s grace is assured\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Responding, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Barr. (Mrs.) Chinwe Amadi, expressed profound gratitude to God for bringing Hon. Edeoga to the ministry.<\/p>\n<p>She described Edeoga as \u201ca man of peace, a loving and caring leader who understands the feelings of those under him; and who can make people around him laugh even when they are not in the best of moods\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that Hon. Edeoga \u201cposseses uncommon leadership qualities which distinguished him from other leaders\u201d she had worked with over time.<\/p>\n<p>The Permanent Secretary assured the out-going Commissioner that they would continue to pray for him, and wishing him well in his future endeavours.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking, the Director of Administration, Mr. Mathew Abiah, described Edeoga as \u201ca humble-servant leader, meek, mien and kind-hearted leader who believes in fair-hearing and justice\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He asserted that Hon. Edeoga never adjudged anyone right or wrong without hearing from both sides, and<br \/>\nprayed to God Almighty to see him through in his aspirations.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nPersonalities that accompanied Edeoga to the event included Hon. Benjamin Edeoga, SSA to the Governor and former Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA; Hon. Eric Ebe, SSA to the Governor and former Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA; Prof. Mishark Nnamchi; Hon. Francis Ikeweta Ede, SA to the Governor; Chief Frankline Nnamani, SA to the Governor; Engr. Samuel Ugwuede; Dr. Justice Chidi; Hon. Tochukwu Okolo; Barr. Ifeanyi Ogenyi; Mr. Ozo Fred Ozo; Sir Ignatius Achu; Mr Iyioku Sherperd Onyiba; Barr. Festus Ede; Mr. Osita Aji; Cmrd.
