{"id":93620,"date":"2022-04-04T17:00:43","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T16:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=93620"},"modified":"2022-04-04T17:00:43","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T16:00:43","slug":"bandits-invade-zamfara-town-kill-commissioners-son-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/bandits-invade-zamfara-town-kill-commissioners-son-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandits invade Zamfara town, kill commissioner\u2019s son, others"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Several locals have been killed by armed men suspected to be bandits during an attack on Tsafe town in Zamfara State.<\/p>\n<p>The assailants were said to have invaded the town which is the headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area of the state on Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Neither the state government nor the police command in Zamfara has made an official statement regarding the incident.<\/p>\n<p>A source told our correspondent\u00a0on Monday that a son of the Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs in Zamfara, Mamman Tsafe, was among those reportedly killed in the town.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, the attack was a reprisal following the killing of a man on Saturday by a local vigilance group known as \u2018Yan Sa Kai\u201d in Tsafe.<\/p>\n<p>A witness explained that the bandits invaded the town about 8:30pm and began to fire sporadic gunshots to cause panic among residents.<\/p>\n<p>Thereafter, they were reported to have gone straight to the residence of the commissioner where they reportedly killed his son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got the information that the bandits were gathering to attack Tsafe; they even invited some other groups in order to attack the town,\u201d the witness said.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cMy house is very close to the DIG\u2019s house. While they were shooting at his house, a bullet dropped on my rooftop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the bandits attacked his (the commissioner\u2019s) house, killed one of his sons and one boy \u2013 a relative of the chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (in Zamfara).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When contacted on Monday, the Commissioner for Information in Zamfara, Ibrahim Dosara, did not respond to several calls put across to him while the police authorities say they would issue a press statement soon.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s incident followed the killing of at least 13 persons by armed bandits in attacks on different communities in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara.<\/p>\n<p>The affected communities were Kadaddaba, Rafin Gero, and Babban Baye.
