{"id":93912,"date":"2022-04-13T06:20:26","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T05:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=93912"},"modified":"2022-04-13T06:20:26","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T05:20:26","slug":"just-in-killings-resign-now-northern-elders-tell-buhari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/just-in-killings-resign-now-northern-elders-tell-buhari\/","title":{"rendered":"[JUST IN] Killings: Resign now, Northern elders tell Buhari"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m46347\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Northern Elders Forum on Tuesday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to \u201cresign immediately\u201d over failure in providing security for Nigerians.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal  \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe organisation tabled the demand in a statement by its spokesperson, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, it is disappointing that after about seven years of being in office, Buhari still has no answers to the security challenges across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Baba-Ahmed said, \u201cThe administration of President Muhammadu Buhari does not appear to have answers to the challenges of security to which we are exposed.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cWe cannot continue to live and die under the dictates of killers, kidnappers, rapists and sundry criminal groups that have deprived us of our rights to live in peace and security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur constitution has provisions for leaders to voluntarily step down if they are challenged by personal reasons or they prove incapable of leading.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cIt is now time for President Buhari to seriously consider that option, since his leadership has proved spectacularly incapable of providing security over Nigerians. Our Forum is aware of the weight of this advice, and it is also aware that we cannot continue to live under these conditions until 2023 when President Buhari\u2019s term ends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKillers and other criminals appear to have sensed a paralyzing vacuum at the highest levels of leadership, and they grow more confident and acquire more competence in subverting the State and our security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNigerians have shed enough tears and blood without appropriate response from those with responsibilities to protect us.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Elders Forum on Tuesday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to \u201cresign immediately\u201d over failure in providing security for Nigerians.
