{"id":94577,"date":"2022-05-05T02:15:10","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T01:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=94577"},"modified":"2022-05-05T02:15:10","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T01:15:10","slug":"2023-oshiomhole-joins-presidential-race-vows-to-end-asuu-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/2023-oshiomhole-joins-presidential-race-vows-to-end-asuu-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"2023: Oshiomhole Joins Presidential Race, Vows To End ASUU Strike\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">A former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared to contest the 2023 presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the APC, declared at Cyprian Ekwensi House, Abuja, on Wednesday.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said he would fix all sectors of the country and ensure a stable academic calendar of federal government universities by ending frequent strike action by ASUU if elected.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Oshiomhole said he was not contesting to lament the imperfections in the country, but he was contesting to set Nigeria on the path of greatness.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that going by the dictates of the country\u2019s constitution, President Muhammadu Buhari will vacate the office on May 29, 2023, hence, his decision to replace him as the president of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Oshiomhole noted that the economy of the country remained an issue, despite the effort of the APC administration.<\/p>\n<p>He said the issue of poverty, insecurity and unemployment are interrelated, saying one does not have to be a professor to know poverty, unemployment breeds insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cI want Nigeria to be described as the smartest country on the continent under my presidency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to declare that I will do everything possible to engage not just ASUU, but all stakeholders to ensure the academic calendar is maintained,\u201d he assured.<\/p>\n<div class=\"yj6qo\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared to contest the 2023 presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
