{"id":94606,"date":"2022-05-05T19:44:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T18:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=94606"},"modified":"2022-05-05T19:44:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T18:44:25","slug":"obi-will-not-negotiate-his-presidential-ambition-for-vp-slot-support-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/obi-will-not-negotiate-his-presidential-ambition-for-vp-slot-support-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Obi will not negotiate his Presidential Ambition for VP Slot &#8211; Support Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1732010691199900507\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) has described media reports that Mr Peter Obi is being considered as vice presidential candidate to another presidential aspirant as \u201carrant nonsense\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The group also said the presidential ambition of the former governor of Anambra state is not negotiable.<\/p>\n<p>POSN in a statement signed by its spokesman Sani Saeed Altukry also warned the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), against playing games with the unity of the country as any attempt by the party to foist a northern candidate on the party members will adversely affect the future and fortunes of the party at the 2023 presidential elections and hurt the already shaky foundations of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) however advised Mr Peter Obi, who has mass appeal and loved by the generality of Nigerians to consider Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed as potential vice presidents when the\u00a0 need arises.<\/p>\n<p>The group warned Nigerians not to grab defeat from the jaws of victory which Mr Obi\u2019s presidential aspiration symbolises and warned the PDP not to play with the yearnings of Nigerians and the mood of the nation on rotational presidency.<\/p>\n<p>POSN in the statement said, &#8220;our attention has been drawn to a media report that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, one of the presidential aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has opted for the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi as\u00a0 his running mate ahead of the 2023 Presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We consider the report &#8211; which we understand was published in a national newspaper as &#8216;arrant nonsense!&#8221;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeter Obi\u2019s presidential ambition is not negotiable as he has repeatedly assured us and other Nigerians that have consulted\u00a0 him on his ambition he is in the presidential race to win.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The report that Atiku is considering Obi as a running mate is \u2018fake news\u2019 obviously rolled out\u00a0 to test waters and deceive millions of Nigerians that see Peter Obi\u2019s presidency as the last hope to rescue Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we are not surprised because Nigerians are aware that Atiku appreciates Obi\u2019s sterling presidential qualities which warranted his choice of Mr. Peter Obi as his\u00a0 running mate in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Finally, we hereby demand that the PDP\u00a0 leadership must speak out immediately on the issue of zoning rather than playing hide-and-seek with the matter.
