{"id":94806,"date":"2022-05-11T18:09:07","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T17:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=94806"},"modified":"2022-05-12T02:22:04","modified_gmt":"2022-05-12T01:22:04","slug":"apc-primaries-ill-congratulate-winner-return-home-if-i-lose-party-ticket-tinubu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/apc-primaries-ill-congratulate-winner-return-home-if-i-lose-party-ticket-tinubu\/","title":{"rendered":"APC primaries: I\u2018ll congratulate winner, return home if I lose party ticket \u2013 Tinubu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1732548261609998966\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said that he will congratulate the winner and return home if he loses the presidential ticket of the party.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe ruling party had slated its presidential primary for May 30 2022.<br \/>\nThe former Lagos governor will be contesting the APC ticket along Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Rotimi Ameachi, Chief Timipre Sylva, Dave Umahi and 23 other party chieftains.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nSpeaking with newsmen after submitting Tinubu\u2019s presidential nomination forms Wednesday in Abuja, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babashir Lawal,\u00a0who led the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) alongside Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state and James Faleke, expressed confidence that their principal will defeat other aspirants.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to explained what Tinubu meant in a statement that he will go back home if beaten, the former SGF boss said: \u201cHe\u2019s a democrat. Every politician should not be afraid of the election because the probability are two: either you win or lose. So if we lose at the convention we go back home, we lick our wounds and prepare to support the winner if he emerges in a free and fair manner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no challenges. We are politicians, we have been in this game for many years, whatever challenges there are we\u2019ve already converted them into opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lawal said President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s directive on ambitious Ministers to resign was not a threat to his principal?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can it be a threat? The more the merrier. We are democrats and we believe that if there are one million contestants on the platform of APC we will carry majority of the delegates at the convention. So the more the merrier, they are all welcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, we feel elated that today we hae come to submit the winning form and we have complied with one of the major requirements of the party for contesting for presidency on the platform of APC.
