{"id":94913,"date":"2022-05-15T11:57:52","date_gmt":"2022-05-15T10:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=94913"},"modified":"2022-05-15T11:57:52","modified_gmt":"2022-05-15T10:57:52","slug":"sokoto-uproar-you-will-soon-see-us-southeast-youths-fume-over-attacks-on-igbos-shops-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/sokoto-uproar-you-will-soon-see-us-southeast-youths-fume-over-attacks-on-igbos-shops-churches\/","title":{"rendered":"Sokoto uproar: You will soon see us \u2013 Southeast youths fume over attacks on Igbos, shops, churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1732877735870281032\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the apex socio-political youth group in the South East has warned against further attacks on Igbos residing in Sokoto State and their shops.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nPointblanknews.com reported that pandemonium erupted in some parts of Sokoto State on Saturday, following a violent protest by Muslim youths who stormed the streets to demand the release of the suspected killers of Deborah Samuel.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Deborah, a second-year student at Sokoto\u2019s Shehu Shagari College of Education, was lynched on Thursday for allegedly insulting Prophet Mohammed.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nAngered by the arrest, a large group of Muslim youths descended on several streets, destroying Igbo churches and shops.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nCOSEYL\u2019s President-General, Goodluck Ibem, issued a statement in response to the development, warning that any further attacks on Igbos and their property would lead to dangerous actions.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement reads, \u201cThese attacks on law-abiding and innocent Igbo businessmen who have done nothing wrong to warrant such vicious and barbaric attack on them is uncalled for and we condemn it in its entirety.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cWe warn the Sokoto indigenes to stop the attack and destruction of Igbo properties and goods forthwith.
