{"id":95131,"date":"2022-05-20T13:34:27","date_gmt":"2022-05-20T12:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=95131"},"modified":"2022-05-20T13:34:27","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T12:34:27","slug":"man-traffics-wife-for-prostitution-sells-son-for-n600000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/man-traffics-wife-for-prostitution-sells-son-for-n600000\/","title":{"rendered":"Man traffics wife for prostitution, sells son for N600,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1733334081194731482\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old man, Kingsley Essien, for allegedly trafficking his wife to Mali for prostitution and selling her two-year-old son for N600,000.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Thursday, said the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at the Agbara divisional headquarters by the suspect\u2019s wife, Bright Essien.<\/p>\n<p>The PPRO said, \u201cBright reported that sometime in October 2021, her husband, Kingsley Essien, informed her that he had secured a job for her in Bamako Mali, and that he had assisted many people to that country for greener pastures before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe explained further that being her husband, she didn\u2019t suspect any foul play until she got to Mali only to discover that she had been sold to a human trafficker cartel headed by a woman at the rate of N1,400,000.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWhile in Mali, she was forced into prostitution, but later found her way to the Nigerian embassy in Bamako, where she was assisted back to Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn getting to Nigeria, she discovered that her two-year-old son in care of her husband was nowhere to be found.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n\u201cUpon the report, the DPO, Agbara division, SP Abiodun Salau, detailed detectives to go after the suspect, and he was eventually arrested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime; he confessed further that he sold the two-year-old son to somebody at the rate of N600,000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The police spokesman, however, said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered that the buyer of the son must be traced and arrested.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 36-year-old man, Kingsley Essien, for allegedly trafficking his wife to Mali for prostitution and selling her two-year-old son for N600,000.&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":95132,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-95131","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-other-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
