Against INEC, AGF Over Presidential Bid<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has again called for the sack of incompetent and corrupt ministers in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, insisting that most of the cabinet members swim in corruption.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CNPP in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, also commended the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN l, Godwin Emefiele, for listening to the voice of the people and withdrew his suit seeking to retrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) from stopping his presidential bid.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the CNPP, \u201cit is about time President Muhammadu Buhari overhauled his cabinet and injected fresh hands with new ideas into the Federal cabinet to redeem his image within the remaining one year of his administration.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBy our several assessment, at least, 80 percent of President Buhari&#8217;s ministers and appointees have proved to be grossly incompetent in the last seven years.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWorse still, many of the appointees swim in unprecedented corruption that was unimaginable even in the years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governments.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPresident Buhari as a former Head of State could not afford N53 million presidential nomination forms seven years ago and the ease with which virtually all his ministers bought the exorbitant presidential and governorship forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should be the clearest signal that most of presidential appointees have been corruptly enriching themselves.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFor us, the recent case involving the Country&#8217;s Accountant-Generall is one of the least because if a financial gate keeper like the Accountant-General of the Federation can be involved in such a monumental corruption, the President Buhari&#8217;s administration has a lot of image redemption activities to carry out before 2023.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis can be best achieved by the immediate replacement of most of the current ministers and appointees who have obviously not delivered meaningful democratic dividend since their appointment\u201d, the CNPP stated.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reacting to the news of the withdrawal of the suit filed against INEC and the AGF by the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, the CNPP noted that \u201cthe development is a step in the right direction.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe commend the CBN governor for being a good listener and respecter of public opinion\u201d, the statement added.<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis
