A Kaduna-based publisher, Tukur Mamu, has said that the children of the Kaduna-Abuja train attackers have been found alive and in good condition at an undisclosed location.<\/div>\n

\nHe further explained that the pictures and videos of the children have been sent to their parents.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that the abductors of the passengers on the train reached out to Mamu demanding the release of their eight children which they claimed were taken away from their mothers at Nasarawa and taken to an orphanage in Yola, Adamawa State capital.<\/p><\/div>\n

\nThe assailants threatened to execute the 68 passengers in their custody if the government failed to release the children to them.<\/p>\n

Speaking to newsmen on Monday, Mamu confirmed that the children were found with the support of security agencies in good condition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have gone the extra mile and succeeded in identifying their children\u2019s location and we confirmed to them with proof that these kids are alive and well taken care of. The evidence sent to them had really helped in dousing their anger and tension.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has also given them confidence that within the little time a move was made to identify the kids\u2019 whereabouts and found them alive. Having done that we pleaded with them that since there is the tendency of getting their children back so what will they give in return for the effort done?<\/p>\n

\u201cThey agreed in principle that the earlier threat of stopping the feeding and provision of medical services to the victims has been withdrawn and that it will continue at their expense. Also, the threat to commence execution has equally been withdrawn but with a two-week condition for a positive response.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the government is sincere and serious within two weeks they will come up with terms for a serious talk. But if within the two weeks there is no positive development that will be the end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He declined further comment on where the children are and in whose custody after they were found for security reasons.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
