{"id":95795,"date":"2022-06-08T01:05:06","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T00:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=95795"},"modified":"2022-06-08T01:05:06","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T00:05:06","slug":"7-aspirants-step-down-for-tinubu-one-for-osinbajo-as-15-aspirants-test-strength","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/7-aspirants-step-down-for-tinubu-one-for-osinbajo-as-15-aspirants-test-strength\/","title":{"rendered":"7 aspirants step down for Tinubu, one for Osinbajo as 15 aspirants test strength\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1735020576567591056\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seven presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC have stepped down for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>They include\u00a0Ajayi Borroffice, Gov Badaru Abubarkar, Godswill Akpabio, Dimeji Bankole, Ibukunle Amosun, Kayode Fayemi and\u00a0Barrister Mrs Uju Ohanenye<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Nicholas Felix another aspirant stepped down for Vice-president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.<\/p>\n<p>The former minister of state for Education,\u00a0 Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba did not show up to make his speech.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the of aspirants however chose to contest the election.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking at the occasion, Bola Tinubu\u00a0described himself as a unifier and the one the moment in the country calls for.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">While commending other aspirants for conducting what he described as a decent campaign, he said the competition will eventually make the party strong.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He asked the delegates to nominate him based on his experience, record of achievements and his ability to deliver good governance.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>On his own, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, told the gathering that President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has laid foundation for the progress of the country, and if he is given opportunity he will builead on the achievements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am running for the office of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because this party has been built well around ideas which we all share.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will appeal to you that you elect someone that achievements so far by this administration are consolidated.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pastor Tunde Bakare on his own said,<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I am not here to step down for anybody. I am here to step up in my aspiration to be the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Former governor of Rivers State Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi called on the delegates to &#8220;Assess us by what we have done not by how much we bring here. Ask those who bring money, what is the source of your income.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Former governor of Imo State\u00a0Rochas Okorocha said, &#8220;For those who are aspiring, it is government money that they are spending. It is government money that they are spending, if they give you money, take it. I Rochas Okorocha created wealth before I came into government.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Also speaking, Vice president Osibanjo asked the delegates to make right choice as delegates have the duty to save Nigeria.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;You can not wish this country well and vote for someone you do not believe.
