{"id":95884,"date":"2022-06-11T14:47:15","date_gmt":"2022-06-11T13:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=95884"},"modified":"2022-06-11T14:47:15","modified_gmt":"2022-06-11T13:47:15","slug":"apga-demanded-n2-billion-monthly-remittance-as-condition-for-party-gov-ticket-udensi-alleges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apga-demanded-n2-billion-monthly-remittance-as-condition-for-party-gov-ticket-udensi-alleges\/","title":{"rendered":"APGA demanded N2 billion monthly remittance as condition for party gov ticket, Udensi alleges"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1735343355252271099\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A factional governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive grand Alliance(APGA) in Abia State, Chief Chikwe Udensi, has alleged that the leadership of the party demanded him to be paying them N2 billion monthly as condition to be given the party&#8217;s governorship ticket.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Udensi and Prof. Greg Ibe have been laying claims to the APGA governorship ticket in the state as they emerged in parallel primary elections. Udensi had last week, approached the court to determine the legitimate gubernatorial candidate of the party.<\/p>\n<p>Udensi who stated this while featuring in a radio programme in Umuahia, disclosed that the state chairman of the party, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and the APGA senatorial candidate for Abia Central zone, Barr. Ahamdi Nweke, among others asked him to sign the document which states that he will be paying them N2 billion monthly if he emerges governor in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The factional governorship aspirant alleged that after he declined to enter such an agreement, his rival, Prof. Greg Ibe signed the N2 billion monthly agreement which made the party chairman to impose him as governorship candidate. He said Ehiemere manipulated the list of delegates for the governorship primary election to favour his anointed candidate.<\/p>\n<p>He further revealed part of the agreement to include making the member representing Aba South state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Obinna Ichita, as deputy governorship candidate and appointing Barr. Emeka Nwaokoro as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.<\/p>\n<p>He said; \u201cThe Abia State leadership of APGA asked me to sign the agreement to pay them N2 billion monthly before I could be given the governorship ticket and also get full support of the party to become the governor of the state. They also gave a condition that Hon. Obinna Ichita must be made the deputy governorship candidate while Barr. Emeka Nwaokoro must be made the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, but I declined. Prof. Greg Ibe put his signature to this agreement. The panel that made the proposal was chaired by Chief Ahamdi Nweke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the alleged agreement, APGA state Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, dismissed the claims by Udensi as spurious\u00a0and cheap blackmail to disparage the party.<\/p>\n<p>He said;&#8221;To the best of my knowledge, neither the state nor national leadership, under Dr Ike Oye, gave Udensi any condition in order to give him the party ticket. This is a blatant lie.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman said Udensi was hired to destroy APGA and threatened to sanction him if he doesn\u2019t desist.<\/p>\n<p>Ehiemere also denied knowledge of any parallel primaries, explaining that while the party was holding its party primary at the Kolping society on May 29, Udensi after addressing the delegates disappeared from the venue and organized a parallel exercise at Villa Roy Hotel, Umuahia.<\/p>\n<p>The party chairman described the claim by Udensi to have won the primary election as misleading and ridiculous.
