{"id":95993,"date":"2022-06-14T17:07:20","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T16:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=95993"},"modified":"2022-06-14T17:07:20","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T16:07:20","slug":"just-in-senate-majority-minority-leaders-resign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/just-in-senate-majority-minority-leaders-resign\/","title":{"rendered":"JUST IN: Senate Majority, Minority leaders resign"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Senators Yahaya Abdullahi and Enyinnaya Abaribe have formally resigned from their positions as Senate Majority and Minority Leaders, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>At the resumption of plenary, Senate President Ahmad Lawan read their respective resignation letters.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Following their defection from the party platforms on which they were elected as senators, the two top officers resigned.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nWhile Abdullahi switched from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People Democratic Party (PDP), Abaribe switched from PDP to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator Enyinnaya Abaribe decamped from the PDP to the APGA,\u201d Lawan said.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nIn addition, he has resigned as the Minority Leader in this chamber.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Senator Yahaya Abdullahi also stated in his resignation letter that he left the APC due to a lack of internal democracy within the party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitics is a local affair.
