Traders under the auspices of\u00a0 the Abia State Markets Association, ( ASMATA), have adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, Prof. Uche Ikonne as their sole candidate for the 2023 governorship election.<\/div>\n

The traders who stated this during a courtesy call on the PDP candidate at his home in Umuahia, assured him that they would do ensure he emerges victorious and sworn-in as Governor in 2023.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In their separate speeches, ASMATA President, Lucky Akubueze, Lolo Joy Aaron and Chief Emeka Igara, said they have assessed the profiles of those jostling for the governorship position and found\u00a0 Ikonne as the most credible candidate,adding that he has greatly contributed greatly to the human capital development of Abia people.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They disclosed that PVC registrations are ongoing in all the markets in the State and would soon embark on ” Operation Show Your PVC” campaign for all traders.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In his reaction, the governorship candidate, Prof. Uche Ikonne<\/div>\n
thanked the traders in the state for identifying with him and his gubernatorial aspiration and promised to deliver give quality leadership that will take the state to a higher level.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He commended Governor Ikpeazu for laying a solid foundation for traders in the State and assured that he would build on the Governor’s efforts ,especially in the area of promotion of Made in Aba products.<\/div>\n

\u00a0He stated that he has developed a master plan to expand markets in the state ,adding that he has Trade as a major pillar of his manifesto and would create more atmosphere for trade to thrive in the State.<\/div>\n

In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief John Okiyi Kalu assured the governorship candidate that every trader is an automatic member of\u00a0 the Ikonne Market Traders Campaign Team.<\/div>\n

He explained that with\u00a0 \u00a0Governor Ikpeazu has done, Prof. Uche Ikonne would do more for the traders.<\/div>\n

The Commissioner assisted by the ASMATA President, donated some campaign materials to the Ikonne governorship campaign organization.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
