{"id":96318,"date":"2022-06-24T16:21:52","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T15:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=96318"},"modified":"2022-06-24T16:21:52","modified_gmt":"2022-06-24T15:21:52","slug":"breaking-terrorists-bomb-kogi-police-station-kill-inspector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/breaking-terrorists-bomb-kogi-police-station-kill-inspector\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Terrorists Bomb Kogi Police Station, Kill Inspector"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Gunmen have again attacked and bombed a police station at Eika-Ohizenyi in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State killing one Inspector of Police on duty on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the terrorists stormed the station on the outskirts of the community and open gunfire on the station and then brought the building with a bomb.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nThe State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Ovye Aya, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that part of the area command office was razed by the dynamite used by the attackers.<\/p>\n<p>According to Aya, a police Inspector died during an exchange of gunfire with the terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>Aya said consequent upon the attacks at Okehi Area Command in the early hours of Friday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, had visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nHe said the Commissioner of Police has equally ordered the deployment of additional operational assets consisting of operatives of the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Quick Response Unit, and State Intelligence Bureau in synergy with other security agencies to restore normalcy in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Police Inspector died in the exchange of fire with the hoodlums, before the Area Commander and a detachment of Military in the area reinforced to the scene of incident, and the attackers fled,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Aya assured that the command is committed to working in synergy with other security agencies as well as patriotic stakeholders to make the state a safe and secure place for all and sundry.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Commissioner of Police has further tasked his Deputy in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence investigations into the unfortunate incident.<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The latest attack is coming a few months after gunmen attacked a police formation in the Adavi Local Government Area and killed three police officers on duty.<\/p>\n<p>It could be recalled on April 23 that gunmen attacked a police station in the same Adavi LGA in the state, which resulted in the death of three police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Some days later, ISWAP claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n<p>On May 11, there was an explosion at a bar in Lewu Junction area of Kabba town, Kogi.<\/p><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gunmen have again attacked and bombed a police station at Eika-Ohizenyi in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State killing one Inspector of Police on duty on Friday.
