{"id":96328,"date":"2022-06-24T20:30:05","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T19:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=96328"},"modified":"2022-06-24T20:30:05","modified_gmt":"2022-06-24T19:30:05","slug":"2023-pdp-suspends-abia-council-chairman-over-anti-party-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/2023-pdp-suspends-abia-council-chairman-over-anti-party-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"2023: PDP suspends Abia council chairman over anti party activities\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">The Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief Michael Ibe Nwoke, has been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ward 7 Alaukwu, Ohanze over anti party activities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">PDP chairman Ward 7, Alaukwu Ohanze, Mr. Aham Egbulefu said that Nwoke was suspended by the Ward executive committee of the party over anti party activities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pointblanknews.com gathered that Nwoke who was elected chairman of the council in December 2020, defected to the Young Peoples Party,(YPP) where he emerged the party&#8217;s candidate for the Obingwa\/ Osisioma\/ Ugwunagbo federal constituency election.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Nwoke who was the ALGON chairman Abia State had a month ago,\u00a0 resigned his position citing personal reasons and thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and his colleagues for the opportunity given to service.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Contacted, Nwoke told Pointblanknews.com that he resigned as a member of the PDP in Ward 7, Alaukwu, Ohanze, Obingwa LGA on 23rd May, 2022, wondering why the party could claim to suspend him after his resignation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said,&#8221; I submitted my letter of resignation letter to the party on 23rd May, 2022 which was received on 25th May, 2022 and signed by the ward chairman, Mr.Aham Egbulefu,\u00a0 who is claiming to have suspended me. This is laughable, unexpected and uncalled for. How do you suspend someone who is not a member of your party? Aham Egbulefu should put his acts together and think of better things to do than being used as an urchin against me.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;On May 22, 2022, I withdrew from the PDP primaries because of the fake 3 man adhoc delegates list manufactured for the primaries against the will of the people. I have also resigned my position as ALGON chairman, Abia\u00a0 State, on 31st May, 2022. I do not owe the PDP anything.
